This intensive is different…

With sessions led by a dance physiotherapist and other expert teachers, we bring science into the studio to help you train in a way that is specific and sustainable to your own body.

We’re a space where you can be challenged, while also understanding and supporting your long-term dance journey.

What you can expect to gain…

Over the course of the week, the focus is on helping you make meaningful, lasting progress.

You will:

  • Develop clarity in your technique

  • Build strength that directly supports your dancing

  • Improve awareness of how your body works

  • Learn how to approach training more effectively through science-based sessions with a dance physiotherapist

  • Gain confidence in how you move and learn

The aim is not just to work harder, but to train more intelligently.

  • "It was a well planned, well paced intensive with more content than I expected. I think the workshops gave balance to an otherwise long day of movement. Before I came I thought this would be a one-off experience for me (financially and time-wise) but now I’m hoping I can do another sometime because of the experience I had."

    — Adult ballet dancer, 60

  • "I learned about the importance of cross training, of building muscle in parallel and getting stronger, and how this won’t only benefit my dancing but also my flexibility. I learned about anatomy, what muscles to use when lifting legs and how to properly activate my toes when pointing my feet."

    — Lifelong ballet dancer

  • "This week I’ve learned a lot about what it means to dance for myself, and have fun and not view it as a competition, and just focus on personal growth."

    —Returning dancer

  • "When I heard about The Ballet Project, I thought this would be the best chance for me to get back on the horse, in an environment that sound much more mindful, respectful of our bodies, and with a focus on joy and wellbeing. That is exactly what I felt, this intensive was just what I needed at this moment."

✅ Are interested in improving in a focused and thoughtful way

✅ Value a training approach that considers the whole dancer

It may not be the right fit if:

❌ You do not normally exercise consistently throughout the week, either by dancing or doing other activities

Questions? We’re here to help!

Why our approach matters…

Adult dancers are often navigating training without the level of support or structure found in full-time environments.

This can lead to:

  • Frustration in progress

  • Confusion around corrections

  • Increased risk of injury

By integrating ballet training with principles from sports science and psychology, this intensive aims to offer a more complete and sustainable approach.

Meet your teachers…

Your Questions, Answered

  • We offer two levels, Beginner and Intermediate. You should feel comfortable in a structured class setting and have been dancing consistently at your chosen level at least once, ideally twice, a week for a year.

  • The training is structured to challenge you while supporting your body. The focus is on sustainable progress, not burnout.

You will be given options to increase or decrease difficulty level, so you can tailor the experience to what you need.

You are welcome to push when you want, and to pull back when you need.

There is a strong emphasis on recovery, awareness, and sustainability.

  • Not at all. Beginner and Intermediate dancers will feel very welcome here.

The focus is on how you approach your training, rather than your level.

That said, Advanced dancers will find this is a great opportunity to slow down and revisit the base of their technique.

  • This is a full, structured training week with expert teaching, cross-disciplinary support, and individual guidance—designed to give you tools that last far beyond the intensive.

  • The integration of ballet training with sports science and psychology, alongside a focus on adult dancers, creates a more considered and supportive training environment.
